RESUMO DO LIVRO CONTOS PLAUSÍVEIS
Carlos Drummond de Andrade publicou pouca prosa de ficção, fora dos limites da crônica: Contos de aprendiz e este Contos plausíveis. Se no primeiro a matriz parecia ser as obras de Machado de Assis e Mário de Andrade, neste a prática da crônica jornalística, pela qual o autor ficou ainda mais conhecido pelo grande público, constante em sua produção, fala mais alto. Publicados originalmente em 1981, numa pequena tiragem, os textos reunidos neste volume são verdadeiros “contos de bolso”, como dizia o próprio Drummond. São histórias breves, sintéticas, engraçadas, leves e sempre inventivas. Entre o urbano e o interiorano, o moderno e o arcaico, Contos plausíveis mostra o incrível prazer de Drummond em contar histórias, em inventar causos, em embaralhar e desvendar suas tramas. Há um tom meio anedótico em grande parte delas, revelando um narrador que parece pagar tributo à antiga e venerável tradição dos contadores de histórias.
